Preparing for the Patent Agent Examination Involves
- Thorough reading the Patents Act, 1970 and the Patents Rules, 2003 covering concepts such as priority, prior art, anticipation, person skilled in the art, novelty, inventive step, sufficiency of disclosure, parts of patent specification, etc.
- Learning, grasping and recalling the Patents Act sections, rules, forms, fees, timelines, etc. and their appropriate referencing, wherever required
- Analyzing the core of invention in light of the Patent act provisions to assess & interpret the scope of patent specification (especially claims) and drafting the entire specification considering problem solving approach
- Studying and following case laws to prepare better for the viva voce and to stay up-to-date with the developments in the law (amendments in the Patent Act and current Govt. policies)
