Professional Background

Kawita Kanoje is an IP strategist, Co-founder & Technology Director at PATHtoIP LLP, Pune. She is a Registered Indian Patent and Trademark Agent, with 25+ years of experience including IP strategy, medical writing, regulatory compliance, and academia. An alumnus of the Women Scientist Scheme (WOS-C) KIRAN-IPR Scheme under DST, she has spent her career working with researchers, inventors, startups, and organizations to draft and manage patents, combining scientific depth with practical IP insights, particularly in pharma and life sciences.

Through the WIPO-Harvard Law School PatentX program, she mastered the complexities of international patent flexibilities and life-science IP dynamics, and further she systematically paired this macro-level strategy with advanced WIPO Academy certifications in PCT mechanics and professional patent drafting.

She is also an alumna of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program, from IIM Lucknow EIC, she brings both global perspective and entrepreneurial thinking to everything she does.

Before founding PATHtoIP, she served as a Woman Scientist and Patent Analyst at CSIR-URDIP, Pune, building deep expertise in prior art searches, patentability, invalidity, FTO analysis, technology landscape reports, and patent drafting/ filing across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, engineering, and FMCG. Her academic foundation includes an M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics) from Nagpur University.
